Riding Instruction
We have an established reputation for rider instruction and a broad range of clients from complete beginners, to competitors. For those that have lost confidence in their riding ability we have managed to rehabilitate them to enjoy the pleasures of riding once again. Lessons can either be private or in groups, please see our opening times for Lessons and Hacking.
We find that the weekday lessons give adults, parents and seniors the opportunity to learn to ride or develop their riding abilities further. There is no maximum age to riding just as long as you have no serious health issues (If in doubt please contact your G.P.). If it is something you have always wanted to do but have never got round to doing, now’s the time to do it.
Hacks and Lessons can be arranged during daytime hours in the week. We also do Monday, Tuesday and Friday Night lessons. Weather permitting these are held in either the outdoor or indoor schools, where the school can be built for your ability whether you’re riding, jumping or doing dressage.
We specialise in the training of Eventers to show jump in addition to other competitive disciplines. Advanced and BSJA show jumping at both junior and senior level/training is available for cross country (jump cross), water jumps, dry and water ditches, table tops/banks etc.
We also train horses so if you have your own horse, we can work with the horse and the rider.
The price is the same hourly rate as standard lessons.

Rider Safety
We have both large indoor and outdoor riding schools. Safety hats are available, although suitable footwear must be worn. A shoe with a heel is preferable if riding boots are not available.
All Riders must wear British Standard protective headgear containing a permanently fitted non-detachable retaining harness, secured to the shell at more than two points. We recommend that you wear whilst riding/jumping a British standard (class 3) body protector at all times when mounted. No horse/pony to be ridden bare back or without correctly fitting tack.
No unauthorized persons should enter the schooling areas while horse activity is taking place.

Hacks
A ride in the impressively scenic local countryside is charged at the new rate. The ability of riders needs to be assessed prior to a hack to ensure both you and horse will be safe off site. All hacking is escorted.
